Field Day: Cover Cropping for Pecans

Learn a field-tested approach for using cover cropping in pecan orchards to reduce fertilizer requirements, reduce soil compaction, reduce soil salinization, and increase water infiltration.

Come out for an orchard walkthrough and discussion of what Pata Viva Farm has learned about cover cropping in pecan orchards, then learn and practice soil analyses on cover cropped and conventional pecan orchards.

Afterwards, enjoy a free, grant funded meal and networking opportunities.

Some parking is available at 697 Rel Lane, with additional parking along Doña Ana Road.

Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring sun protection, and bring a water bottle.
