The school year is winding down and now is the perfect time for making teacher thank you gifts, or to create a little brood to share with your besties!

Come learn the basics of using a sewing machine while making these super fun little stuffies! No prior sewing experience is required.

Each week is a separate session. 

Skills learned in this class include:

- How to thread the sewing machine

- Basic operation of the sewing machine

- Sewing straight seams

- Techniques for sewing over lumpy inserts in seam (like beaks and combs)

- Scissor skill

- How to grade seams for cleaner turning

- Use of safety eyes

- Hand sewing buttons

- Stuffing technique

- How to hand sew the stuffed figure closed

All materials will be provided.

Students should be at least 9 years old and need to be attending a Title 1 school in Las Cruces to enroll.
