Mic Check: Recording and Boosting Sound

Imagine the microphones and gear that a podcaster uses, or the speakers and sound equipment that a band uses on stage. You can learn how to use it! In this 5-day class, you’ll get training and practice in how to record and edit sound for a podcast or song, how to set up speakers and sound amplification, and even how to run sound for and record a live band!

This class is available for students age 13 - 17, attending a title one school. Please come to class wearing close toed shoes and ready to work. Students are encouraged to bring water bottles. Snacks are available for purchase.

Thanks to Funding from the City of Las Cruces and the American Rescue Plan Act we are able to offer these camps free of cost to all Title One students who attend schools in Las Cruces. These schools include all of the Las Cruces Public Schools, White Sands Schools, Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy, Arrowhead Park, Alma d'Arte, J Paul Taylor Academy, La Academia Dolores Huerta, Los Montanas, New America, Raices Del Saber.
