*Please note, this camp is free for students attending a title one school. Title one schools include ALL Las Cruces Public Schools, plus a few charter schools. If you have questions about if your school is included in Title one, see more information at the end of this post.
Come and learn the basics of of jewelry making using a variety of professional quality tools and techniques. You will leave with at least three pieces of jewelry to keep or share with friends and loved ones.

Skills learned in this class include:
- - How to follow all safety policies at all times
- - How to use a variety of tools to create accurate measurements
- - How to use the correct tools for cutting a variety of materials accurately
- - How to use a variety of tools and other resources to create a variety of textures on sheet metals
- - How to use a jeweler’s saw to create detailed shapes
- - how to use a variety of hammers to shape metal in order to create a variety of jewelry
- - How to use a variety of cold connection techniques to connect a variety of objects
- - how to use a variety of hand tools including but not limited to, hand files, jewelers saw, various pliers, flush cutters.
- - How to use large shop tools such as bench vices, anvils, grinders, drill
- -presses, rolling mills and metal shears
All materials will be provided. However, if students have strong personal opinions and wish to purchase and bring their own beads (6mm and 8mm round stone or glass) they are welcome to do so.
Students are welcome to repeat each session as often as they like with each session offering different projects
Students should beat least 11-years old and need to be attending a Title 1 school in las cruces to qualify. Separate enrollments are necessary for each participant.
