Please note, this camp is free for students attending a title one school. Title one schools include ALL Las Cruces Public Schools, plus a few charter schools. If you have questions about if your school is included in Title one, see more information at the end of this post.
Sewing Basics
Students will work through sewing a tote bag, pillow case, scrunchie, and a stuffie!
By the end of class students will be confident and ready to work on their home sewing machines, or take advantage of the machines at Cruces Creatives. By the end of the week, students will have completed a tote bag, pillowcase and drawstring backpack!

This class is for the student who has not used a sewing machine before. It is the very first step in learning to machine sew, and serves as the prerequisite for all other sewing classes for youth here at Cruces Creatives.
Students should be at least 9 years old.
-Bring a water bottle. Snacks will be available for purchase. Students need to wear closed toed shoes to camp. Long hair should be tied back for safety.
-Parents are invited to stay and participate or drop-off. Thanks to Funding from the City of Las Cruces and the American Rescue Plan Act we are able to offer these camps free of cost to all Title One students who attend schools in Las Cruces. These schools include all of the Las Cruces Public Schools, White Sands Schools, Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy, Arrowhead Park, Alma d'Arte, J Paul Taylor Academy, La Academia Dolores Huerta, Los Montanas, New America, Raices Del Saber.
