Myth Makers (4th grade and up)

Mr. Jesus would like to invite you to make fascinating art while exploring meaning-making stories that have been important to different peoples and civilizations.  Learn about 9 types of Chinese dragons and work with special papers; consider constellation stories and use glow in the dark perler beads;  use paper clay to make an alebrije and learn the story behind this traditional Mexican art form, and more.

-Please note, this camp is free for students attending a title one school. Title one schools include ALL Las Cruces Public Schools, plus a few charter schools. If you have questions about if your school is included in Title one, see more information at the end of this post.

Thanks to Funding from the City of Las Cruces and the American Rescue Plan Act we are able to offer these camps free of cost to all Title One students who attend schools in Las Cruces. These schools include all of the Las Cruces Public Schools, White Sands Schools, Mesilla Valley Leadership Academy, Arrowhead Park, Alma d'Arte, J Paul Taylor Academy, La Academia Dolores Huerta, Los Montanas, New America, Raices Del Saber.
